About Us

Cathedral House

Iconic Glasgow Landmark Cathedral House was built in Scottish Baronial style in 1896 within the heart of Glasgow’s most historic area. It now a thoughtfully renovated bed and breakfast.

Cathedral House has 8 individually designed bedrooms. Offering a combination of Grand, Classic (one of which can be a twin) Cosy and Loft rooms. All rooms are en-suite. It is also home to Michelin recognised Celentano’s, an Italian-inspired restaurant, built on a passion for sharing good food and drinks with family and friends.

Cathedral House lies directly opposite and overlooks the Glasgow Necropolis and is adjacent to Glasgow Cathedral and Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

In addition, both Strathclyde University and Glasgow City College are a short stroll away. Glasgow City Centre and the Merchant City are also within easy walking distance.

Other historic buildings within the immediate vicinity include the Glasgow Evangelical Church, an A listed building dating from 1878 and the Provand’s Lordship House, a medieval period historic house built in 1471, the oldest house in Glasgow.

Shane and Laura

Laura McKenzie, the owner of Cathedral House would like to welcome you. After over 30 years working in the hospitality industry and 6 years of owning and operating an award winning bed and breakfast (15 Glasgow), in Glasgow’s park area we decided to invest in this 1986 baronial house. It was a former half-way house for female prisoners from Duke street prison. Cathedral House has 8 quirky en-suite bedrooms and we are delighted to offer you a fabulous continental breakfast if you choose. While we concentrate on the rooms and the breakfast, Celentano’s who partnered with us in 2001, operate the bar, restaurant, and fabulous garden. This is the first time in over 20 years that Cathedral House has been privately owned
